Tehran, Dushanbe Resolute to Broaden Bilateral Ties

VOİCEPRESS - Iranian Ambassador to Dushanbe Mohammad Taqi Saberi and Tajikistan Foreign Minister Sirodjidin Muhriddin, in a meeting in the capital city of the Central Asian country, voiced their respective countries’ determination to further deepen the bilateral ties in all areas of mutual interest.
According to Iran's embassy in Dushanbe, during the Thursday meeting at Tajikistan's Foreign Ministry, Saberi and Muhriddin discussed issues of mutual interest.

In the meeting the two sides underlined expansion of bilateral relations and cooperation in all fields.

The Tajik minister called Iran as an important country in the region and the world, adding that the two countries enjoy plenty of commonalities which should be explored to help broaden ties and cooperation between the two sides.

Referring to the visit of Iranian President Hassan Rouhani to Tajikistan, he then called the meeting between the two presidents very good and constructive followed by positive consequences.

Since both sides' officials are determined to broaden mutual cooperation, Iran is ready to broaden all out cooperation with Tajikistan, said the Iranian ambassador.

President Hassan Rouhani attended the 5th Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA) summit in Dushanbe on June 15, 2019 and explained Iran's views and stands on regional developments in his meeting with his Tajik counterpart President Emomali Rahmon.

Earlier this month, Iran’s Energy Minister Reza Ardakanian met with Tajik Ambassador to Tehran Nizomoddin Zohidi.

In the meeting in the capital city of the Islamic Republic on August 13, Ardakanian and Zohidi discussed ways to increase economic and energy cooperation between the two countries.

Ardakanian pointed to the special emphasis of presidents of the two countries of Iran and Tajikistan for developing and broadening bilateral ties and added, “Given the friendly and amicable relationship between the two countries, effective steps should be taken in order to expand bilateral ties in all fields.”

Chairman of Iran-Tajikistan Joint Economic and Trade Cooperation Commission pointed to the lunch of Urban Water Regional Management Center in Tehran and added, “presently, this center has accelerated its activities. With the coordination made, meeting of Board of Governors of the Commission will be held in Tehran on Dec. 4-5.”

Elsewhere in his remarks, Ardakanian pointed to Iran’s accession to Eurasian Economic Union (EEU) and added, “According to the planning made, the launch of North-South Corridor and Chabahar Port will be followed up seriously.”

For his part, Zohidi said that positive developments have been made between Iran and Tajikistan in recent months. Visit of Iranian foreign minister to Tajikistan and also meeting between presidents of the two countries of Iran and Tajikistan in Dushanbe indicate serious determination of heads of states of the two countries for boosting bilateral cooperation.”
